Lower Burrell PD to welcome a cafe with a cop

“Coffee with a Cop” will be sponsored by the Lower Burrell Police Department from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall, 2800 Bethel St.

The event aims to encourage positive interaction and constructive dialogue between law enforcement officials and the public they serve.

The event will take place outdoors and social distancing will be observed.

Reverse parade to honor Springdale graduates

A reverse parade in honor of the Springdale High School Class of 2021 will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Springdale.

Seniors will line up along Lincoln Avenue and family, friends and the community are encouraged to decorate their vehicles and drop by to show their support. The parade schedule will be on Porter Street and will follow a signposted route. The rain date is Wednesday. Participants must stay in their vehicle.

The event is sponsored by the Springdale High School Alumni Association and the Dynamo Education Foundation.


Knead Community Café accepts donations

Knead Community Café, New Kensington, accepts donations to help with the day-to-day running of the café, 1011 Barnes St.

Items on the cafe’s wish list include premium white towels, Clorox wipes, disposable latex or nitrile gloves in large or extra large, 6 x 6 inches or 9 x 9 inches with a hinged compartment on-the-go Styrofoam, awesome degreaser, powdered coffee creamer, foil sheets, Tide Gold Gain Powder Laundry Detergent and Sam’s Club gift cards.

Donations will be accepted during business hours from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
