Borussia Dortmund publishes preliminary figures for the third quarter (Q3) of the 2021/2022 financial year

During the last quarter (from January 1 to March 31, 2022) of the current financial year, the consolidated net loss amounted to 26.6 million euros (previous year quarter: consolidated net loss of 18 .8 million euros). For the period from July 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022, the consolidated net profit after tax amounted to 10.9 million euros (previous year: consolidated net loss of 45.0 million euros). The increase compared to the prior year period is mainly explained by the increase in net transfer income to 60.3 million euros (previous year: 9.8 million euros).
Preliminary quarterly report figures for the third quarter as of March 31, 2022 are as follows.
Borussia Dortmund generated total consolidated operating income (revenue plus gross transfer proceeds generated) of €64.4 million in the third quarter of the financial year 2021/2022 (prior year quarter: €85.8 million euros) and 380.4 million euros on a cumulative basis during the first three quarters (previous year: 276.1 million euros). Borussia Dortmund saw its consolidated turnover increase by 19.5 million euros, or 7.6%, to 276.8 million euros in the first three quarters (previous year: 257.3 million). euros).
In the first three quarters, the consolidated profit before tax (EBT) amounted to 14.6 million euros (previous year: -45.0 million euros) and the consolidated profit before interest, taxes, impairment and amortization (EBITDA) amounted to 94.2 million euros (previous year: – one-year period: 35.2 million euros).
Consolidated turnover amounted to 64.2 million euros in the third quarter (previous year quarter: 80.0 million euros), of which 1.8 million euros (last quarter: previous year: €0.0 million) match operation revenue, €24.9 million (prior year quarter: €0.0 million) quarter: €49.4 million ) TV marketing revenue, EUR 30.2 million (prior year quarter: EUR 24.7 million) advertising revenue, EUR 3.2 million (prior year quarter: EUR 1.1 million) conferences, catering and miscellaneous income, and €4.2 million (prior year quarter: €4.8 million) in merchandising income.
Cumulative personnel costs increased to EUR 166.9 million (previous year: EUR 156.6 million) and third quarter personnel costs increased by EUR 2.3 million to EUR 56.6 million euros (previous year: 54.3 million). Accumulated amortizations and write-downs amounted to 76.0 million euros (previous year: 79.3 million euros), while third-quarter amortizations and write-downs amounted to 24.8 million euros (quarter of the previous year: 26.4 million euros). Other operating expenses amounted to 73.8 million euros in the first three quarters (previous year: 64.4 million euros). In the third quarter, they decreased by EUR 2.0 million to EUR 19.2 million (prior year quarter: EUR 21.2 million).
The cumulative financial result amounts to -3.6 million EUR (previous year: -0.9 million EUR); the net tax income amounts to -3.8 million EUR (previous year: 0.0 million EUR).
There is no change in the forecast of a consolidated net loss for the full year of between €17.0 million and €24.0 million as published in the ad hoc communication of February 25, 2022.
