HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE: Democratic Women in Randolph County are hosting an open house for members and friends at the Kump Education Center Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Participants are asked to bring a starter or dessert to share. Crockery and drinks will be provided. We will also be collecting canned and non-perishable food for the blessing boxes. For more information, call or text 304-641-0751.

CRAFT SALE: The United Methodist Church of Orlena will be holding a craft sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. There will be soups, hot dogs and sandwiches available for purchase.

CRAFT AND BAZAR SHOW: The Elkins Christian Academy in Glenmore will host a craft show and bazaar from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Craftsmen and vendors from across West Virginia will be in attendance. There will be a bake sale and hot dogs with homemade chili will be available for purchase. There will be a silent auction with beautiful themed baskets and hundreds of items donated just in time for Christmas.

ARTISTS MARKET: The Arts Centre’s annual Artists’ Market will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. There will be ceramics, ornaments, works of art, prints and other items handmade by more than a dozen local artisans.

LUNCH AND CHRISTMAS SALES: The Beverly Presbyterian Church’s annual Christmas luncheon will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Homemade lunch, $ 7.00, includes soup, sandwich, drink and dessert. Other items for sale will be delicious baked goods, canned goods and our popular homemade Christmas cookie platters. Places will be limited but take-out meals are available. This event is part of the annual Old Fashioned Beverly Christmas.

CHRISTMAS DINNER BASKETS: American Legion Post 29 will accept requests for Christmas dinner baskets, for residents of Randolph County only, on the following dates and times of December 6-10 between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Proof of your physical residence, ID, and all forms of income you receive are required. Applications must be completed at the office and cannot leave the building. Nominations do not guarantee that you will be selected to receive a dinner, and preference will be given to military families. The baskets will be distributed on December 18. Letters to recipients will be mailed from December 13th. For more information, call 636-3930.

FULL BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING: The Region VI Workforce Development Full Board will meet on Thursday, December 9 at 10:30 a.m. at the Marion County Convention & Visitors Bureau located in Pleasant Valley. For more information about the meeting, contact Maria Larry at 304-368-9530.

RANDOLPH COUNTY RETIRED SCHOOL STAFF ASSOCIATION: The December meeting of the Randolph County Retiree School Staff Association will meet on Friday, December 10 at 12:30 p.m. at the Steer Steakhouse in Elkins. CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PARTY: The American Legion Station 29 Auxiliary will be hosting a Children’s Christmas Party on December 11 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for children 11 and under. There will be snacks, crafts and of course, Santa Claus.

BROWN BAG CONCERT: The Arts Center will be hosting a Brown Bag concert on Wednesday December 15 at noon. Singer and pianist Raymond Godwin will be performing, and his show will feature several of your favorite Christmas songs, and most likely an appearance by Santa himself. This event is free and open to the public.

AL-ANON: meets at Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church every Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

SUPPORT GROUP: The West Virginia Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA) holds a support group for veterans with depression and bipolar disorder on the first and third Wednesday of each month at the Elkins VFW from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. for more information contact John Riley at 304-376-3213 or email siuwvuman@aol.com.
