| Dresden Oktoberfest
It's a fun filled event you won't want to miss!
Games for the kids, delicious food, wonderful entertainment and a place to relax and enjoy. If this sounds good to you then join us at 6th and Main Streets for the Dresden Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 6th from 12 noon – 9:00 pm. There will be something for everyone! We will kick off the event with an “Open Mike” where local entertainment can showcase their talent. Back by popular demand is Dawne Daughtery Kaib, Ray Galla’s Polka Band playing at 4 p.m. and A.J. Angelo, local favorite from Columbus, will cap the day long event.
The Oktoberfest attracts people of all ages with kids activities from 12 noon - 4 p.m. They can paint their own pumpkin, find their way through a straw maze, or burn off some energy in the Bounce House. We will also have the traditional German food, a Beer Garden with some festive beverages this year, a silent auction with some wonderful items to bid on, and so much more! The Oktoberfest is sponsored by the Michelob Ultra, Century National Bank, Pepsi, and Domino’s Pizza. The event is sponsored by the Dresden Village Association and proceeds will benefit the Dresden Welcome Center. Admission is FREE. Join us for Beer, Brats, Games, Music and Fun at the Dresden Oktoberfest!

Enter Your Best Photographs and See Your Child's Picture in the Hometown's Best 2008 Calendar
Show off your children, grandchildren, friends or family by entering your best pictures in the Hometown’s Best Photo Contest. The Dresden Welcome Center is accepting photographs for their 2008 calendar. “Everyone loves to show off their kids and we thought a calendar of children would be a great fundraiser,” says Roy Krasky, fundraising chair for the DVA. The 2008 calendars will feature ALL photos submitted, however a public voting will decide top winners for the monthly calendar locations.
Participants can enter as many photos as they like, single child or group photo (5 or less people work best). Photos have to be 35mm (4”x6” or larger) or digital photographs of 300 dpi or larger. The cost to enter is $15 per photo and should be sent with the name, address, phone and email of the person submitting to Photo Contest, PO Box 707, Dresden, OH 43821. All photos submitted will be used somewhere in the calendar.
Photos and entries must be postmarked no later than October 15th of this year. Photos will be available for public voting, October 20-31, at The Depot, Dresden IGA, and Century National Bank (Dresden). Voting can also be cast by sending $1 per vote with the entry. Calendars will be available by December 1st and can be pre-ordered by calling 740-754-3401. All proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit the Dresden Welcome Center.
Special Thanks for Making the Dresden E-News Possible
I'd like to give a special thanks to the businesses who pitched in to make the Dresden E-News a reality. Without their support (financially and constructively), you wouldn't be getting news from us so frequently. So the next time you're in Dresden, please stop in and tell them thanks!
